This is the Lynn Update Page-Updated when needed

Lynn had a breast biopsy that discovered cancer.
We've seen the medical oncologist, the surgeon and as soon
as we see the radiation oncologist she has chosen to have a
lumpectomy with radiation and a "cancer pill-for 5 years"
This assumes no cancer in the lymph nodes-If there is, then
more aggressive chemo will have to occur

Lynn has got her Radiation Oncologist appointment Monday, The
2nd Surgeon appointment later that day- She is going to go off
her blood thinners on this wed to be ready for a surgery that has
not yet got "approved" by the surgeon- The wait was for the radiation
Doctor................sigh- anyway the good news is that this will likely
all come together and in (what we realize is a short time) but when it
comes to My family I'm not very patient

Surgery is on for Wed.- She's having a Lumpectomy on her left breast
followed by radiation (multiple weeks) and medicine- We will not know how the lymph
nodes are till during the surgery- If the "sentinel" node can be identified-they will remove it
If not they may remove many- If the cancer is in the nodes-Then Chemo will also happen

Surgery in a few hours, Prayers gladly accepted- The results of Lymph Node Frozen sections
depend on whether some nifty radioactive dye identifies a "sentinel" node- If not they will have
to remove a bunch- This will be decided while the surgery is ongoing. and it could change the whole
scenario.

10/21-Follow Up

The surgery went well-Plan A was 9:30am.........Plan B..........11:30am..........actual 2:30pm
She's home, has a drain tube, and will not find out if the cancer is gone till Tuesday- The doctor "thinks" he found the sentinel node-But we'll have to wait and see.

Clean Lymph Node- Clean margins!!  Now after a few weeks of healing (from the surgery) She'll have Radiation (6 weeks +/-) and a pill 1x month for the next 5 years.  She's mostly decided not to have Chemo- It only adds a small percentage to the cure rate and she's not liking the side effect possibilities. She is seeing the Medical Oncologist again
and will make a final desision based on that.

Lynn will start radiation soon- She has an appointment later today with the Radiation Oncologist- She is working
(and has been- too hard but that's Lynn) By the way the above mentioned pill is 1X per Day for 5 Years- No Chemo is planned and the Medical Oncologist signed off on that- The cancer was caught early -Thank You Jesus

Thanksgiving
Lynn started radiation Monday- It burns a bit, She had a wonderful early Thanksgiving with Both Girls, Their Guys, Grandkid Landon and I- She also got all 7 of us to JC Penneys for a family(s) picture and these kind of things may be the best medicine of all- We're going to Dance A2 all weekend -That will be fun for us.

2010- RADIATION IS OVER, Lynn Started on The 1 pill a day for 5 years, Tissue is healing-Thanks for your support and prayer!!
