Sept. 2nd
A Great workshop tonight!!!!! I'm so happy that a full square took advantage of a nearby festival and had FUN!!!
I'm also glad that the folks realized that we must put our Tuesday focus on learning- (Round Dancing during the first hour-Squares the rest) and not try to provide "one stop shopping" (S/D Workshop-R/D Class-and a Dance in 2 1/2 hours)  The group has begun regular Saturday DANCES and I'm excited about the future of S/D In the South Valley (Fresno is a different story-sigh)..........Wednesday kicks off the Advanced season in Bakersfield.
By the way..............not a single public response to my last post......many private with the overwhelming theme "I agree but I can't agree in public"...............Now that's sad, lame and cowardly...............Oh Well

Sept 22nd

Man Have I been snoozing, 20 days without a post.
It's been a fun month- Highlights are the new Monday class (15 ish-1 week to go) A couple of great parties, a new event for a job creation unit of the county I live in and the Santa Maria Weekend
Lowlights are the low attendance on Tuesdays (nothing horrible-just so many traveling, sick etc.), The sad demise of the same Santa Maria Weekend- But stay tuned-Maybe I have something up my sleeve.  Future highlights are this weekend's Oakhurst Fall Festival- Still growing- and possibly a sell out!! Yay
In the weird category I saw on the floor a couple who have butted heads with me for 20 years (I of course was right) dancing 2 sessions with me recently........1) they used to politic rather than dance  2) They haven't been at a dance I've called in 10 years-  (Insert twilight zone theme-cue Rod Serling)
I'll touch base more often

WOW I've been  blessed with a 10 people influx of existing dancers (who've moved here) between my Monday and Tuesday Groups......YAY  (In fact we had a GREAT attendance Tuesday- Folks are better, off travel and newly relocated dancers were a bonus!!!!)
I note that in both cases, These folks found us via accurate info on the web/publications.
